Training

H.J. O'Connell Ltd. places an acute emphasis on the training of its employees.

Workers are trained in the various occupational health and safety compliance courses including:

  • Powerline Hazards
  • WHMIS
  • Trenching and Excavation
  • Fall Protection and Scaffolding
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods
  • Confined Space Awareness
  • Fire Extinguisher Training
  • Back Injury Prevention
  • Traffic Control
In addition to compliance training, employees receive a comprehensive safety orientation on an annual basis. The Hazard Assessment of a project is reviewed with all employees prior to them commencing work on that project. Members of the Joint Occupation Safety, Health and Environment Committee and all supervisory staff receive Occupational Health and Safety Committee certification training.
