Mill 13 Replacement
This project's scope of work was to partially demolish an existing mill foundation to convert the grinding mill from a dry mill to a wet mill in order to reduce dust emissions from the concentrator. The main challenge on this project was to partially demolish and replace the existing foundation while all surrounding mills remained in operation. State of the art concrete cutting technology was used to slice the existing mill foundation into blocks as large as 40 tonnes. The modified mill included the supply and placement of complex formwork and approximately 1100 m3 of concrete. Also, the new structure required the placement of anchor bolts and approximately 2000 dowels into the existing structure. This project was completed on time and on budget.
